Western Connections Heritage Trail The Heritage Trail starts about 2 miles west and 1 mile north of the end of the OPRT. It's a 5K bike trail and it connects with the Donnelly Trail in Lockport and provides access to Dellwood Park and the Illinois and Michigan Canal museum. The trail has a smooth surface of fine limestone screenings with a paved half-mile at each end. Joliet Junction Trail Click here The Joliet Junction Trail is paved for 4.5 miles from Larkin Street to Theodore Street. Theodore is just south of Crest Hill & U.S. 30. Wauponsee Trail Click here for map. The Wauponsee Trail is paved for about 3 miles (as of Nov. 2003). It starts a few blocks south of Washington Street and runs south to the Will County Forest Preserve District offices near Laraway Road. 	Western Connections Illinois & Michigan (I&M) Canal Trail The eastern end of the 61-mile long I&M Canal State Trail is about 3-1/2 miles west and 1-1/2 miles south of the western end of the OPRT. The I&M Canal State Trail has a smooth surface of fine limestone screenings.
