Hickory Creek Bikeway-East

Leaving the Old Plank Road Trail at Wolf Road and then traveling east on Route 30 provides access to the east branch of the Hickory Creek Bikeway at the Frankfort Township swimming pool.

Alternate route: turn off the OPRT at Elsner Road and go north about a mile to U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway). Cross U.S. 30 at the light and follow the Frankfort bike trail west along U.S. 30 until you reach the Frankfort Township Swim Center. The trail head is at the back of the pool property.

The 1.8-mile trail (3.6-mile round trip) travels through the Forest Preserve's 1800 acre Hickory Creek Preserve. The trail ends at the Forest Preserve's LaPorte Road Access, in Mokena, where visitors can enjoy picnicking and hiking.

A short trail connection leads to the Mokena Park District.
